
“JC Fit City - Run With Your Heart 2025”

Over a Thousand Students, Parents, and Citizens Celebrate the Lunar New Year with Elite Athletes
The “JC Fit City – Run With Your Heart 2025” Sports Carnival was held on January 25, 2025, at the West Kowloon Cultural District. The event attracted participants from various sectors, including both active and retired athletes, as well as citizens from different districts. One of the event’s highlights, the large-scale relay race “Run With Your Heart 2025,” saw over 160 teams and more than 1,300 participants competing.
Mr. Robbie McRobbie, Executive Manager, Charities (Sports) at The Hong Kong Jockey Club, stated in his speech: “The Jockey Club firmly believes that sports bring positive energy to society. By leveraging our donations and sports expertise, we aim to enhance public awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and promote positive changes on both individual and community levels. Since its launch in 2023, the ‘JC Fit City’ has been organising various sports activities for Hong Kong citizens, encouraging everyone—whether beginners or experienced athletes—to embrace a healthy lifestyle at their own pace and inspire those around them to join in. Just like the runners participating in today’s ‘JC Fit City – Run With Your Heart 2025’ Sports Carnival, we hope everyone stays active for a healthier life.”
Mr. Lau Chun, Raistlin, Under Secy for Culture, Sports and Tourism, also delivered a speech, stating: “The promotion of sports cannot rely solely on government efforts; support from various sectors of society is also essential. I would like to express my gratitude to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and all co-organising institutions for promoting sports at the community level through the ‘JC Fity City,’ making Hong Kong a more vibrant city.”
Dr. Malina Ngai Man Lin, Vice President of the Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association, shared: “Every year, the ‘Run With Your Heart’ witnesses the passing of the torch among Hong Kong’s elite athletes. We are delighted to see athletes, distinguished guests, and friends from different sectors continuously supporting this event over the years. This reflects the spirit and strength of Hong Kong’s elite athletes in giving back to society, spreading love, kindness, and sportsmanship to every corner of Hong Kong.”
The “JC Fit City – Run With Your Heart 2025” Sports Carnival featured both a relay race and a carnival. The competition included various categories and special awards, such as the “Most Creative Costume Team”, encouraging runners to showcase their creativity and unique styles. The carnival offered a range of sports experiences, including fencing, shooting, and kin-ball, allowing citizens to participate, learn about the benefits of sports, and discover the joy of physical activity.
Beyond the relay race, the event also featured Hong Kong high jump athlete Cecilia Yeung Man Wai, who led participants of all ages and families in a themed dance performance, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere. This was followed by a musical performance by singer On Chan, further elevating the energy at the venue. Additionally, the carnival included various interactive sports booths, experience classes, festive decorations, sports-themed photo zones, and live music performances, offering free participation for the public to enjoy the happiness and benefits of sports.

The participating elite athletes included Lee Yuen Yin (rowing), Wong Wai Chun (rowing), Yuen Yun Lam (rowing), Cheung Siu Lun (fencing), Yip Pui Yin (badminton), Cheung Hoi Lam (rowing), Lee Ka Man (rowing), Leung Yuet Yee (badminton), Lee Ka Wai Jimmy (karate), Wong Hiu Ying Angel (gymnastics), Wong Wai Lok (rowing), and Lee Chun Ho (karate).
Former footballer Kwok Ka Ming also came to show his support.
